Shaping a Child’s Development Through PE

Regents School of Austin’s Physical Education (PE) program is biblically based and focused on age-appropriate motor skill development. In this session, Regents’ PE Dept Chair, Nick Gordon will provide an overview of Regents’ PE Curriculum, starting with Kindergarten and finishing in 8th grade. Lower Grammar utilizes a Motor Skill Lab which has been essential to not only motor skill development, but classroom management as well. Middle Grammar is an introduction into various sports while Upper Grammar begins to develop student-athletes in the various interscholastic sports that Regents offers. School of Logic PE is based in the weight room and focuses on lifestyle habits of exercise and nutrition.

Nick Gordon

Nick Gordon is entering his seventh year at Regents serving as the Physical Education department chair, working with students in the Grammar and School of Logic. He has been teaching Physical Education for fifteen years, eight of which were in his native England. Nick attended the University of Worcester, England where he completed a Bachelors of Science degree in Sports Science. He then completed a Masters in Teaching Physical Education as a Post graduates Degree. Nick met his wife Lily in 2008 and they were married in 2010. They have three children Caeden 8, Piper 6, Carter 7 months.
